THE NEXT edition of the biennial Mr World pageant to be held in the Philippines has been moved to January 27 2019.
Mr World Organization director Steve Douglas Morley made the announcement at a press conference held in the Philippines on May 2. The pageant was originally set for September 16.
“And because of moving it to January 27, we could announce that a world record of more than 100 countries will be coming to Manila. This is the biggest Mr World in history,” Morley said.
Rohit Khandelwal of India will be the longest reigning Mr World titleholder following the move to reschedule the Mr World finals
The finals will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City. Prior to that, the contestants will be touring different places in the Philippines and partake in a series of challenge events (such as Fashion & Style, the Extreme Challenge, the Multi-Media Award, the Sports Challenge & the Talent Competition).
“We have a lot of surprises in store for all Filipino pageant fans but that will have to remain a secret until such time that we have worked out things with our partners here,” Morley added.
Reigning Mr and Miss World Rohit Khandelwal and Manushi Chhillar both travelled to Manila for the press conference. Also present in the event were Miss World Philippines 2017 Laura Lehmann, Miss World Philippines Organization president Arnold Vegarfia, and MWPO general manager Bessie Besana.
