Miss International 2003 is a landmark pageant for many reasons. First, it’s the fourth time that Venezuela took the coveted crown cementing its status as a beauty superpower at the pageant. Second, as of press time, it was the third and last time that India had a very good chance of winning but ended in a heartbreaking first runner-up finish. Third, Nigeria returned to the pageant after almost a decade of absence but it didn’t really help because the country sporadically participated in the succeeding years before deciding to abandon the pageant in 2008. And lastly, the Philippine drought that started in 1999 was already coming to an end.

In that year, Missosology was still at its puberty but was there to cover the event. Check out some of the photos that were never published to the public before.
