Robbe Steenssens on Saturday resigned as Mister Belgian Style 2017 days after the finals, citing “recent changes” in his personal life. First runner-up Robby Voets will take over the title and responsibilities.

“Due to recent changes in my personal life, it’s not possible for me to combine my job, my home renovations, and all responsibilities that come with the title of Mister Belgian Style 2017,” Steenssens said in a statement sent to Missosology. “I’m very happy to have had the honor to be announced as the winner, but it seems best to resign now, few days after the final show.”

Meanwhile, Voets said he was “shocked” when the Mister Belgian Style organization (MBSO) asked him to take over the title as he was already happy with his second-place achievement.

“I will always be the only Mister Belgian Style that doesn’t know how it feels when your name is announced at the end of the final show. Especially for my fans, this will forever be disappointing,” Voets said. “I will grab this chance with both hands and make the MBSO proud! Hope to see all of you guys soon on Missosology!”

No decision made yet on who will represent Belgium in the next editon of the Mister International pageant. Andreas Bogaerts is now the 1st runner-up while Ken Van Acker is second runner-up. Missosology.Org
