What sets Big4 Pageants apart from the rest of other minor and wannabe pageants is the fact that all have clear, well-established and realistic causes. When it comes to this subject, Miss World leads the way as the pageant has put charities at the forefront of its activities. The reigning Miss World, Rolene Strauss of South Africa, has been working so hard in order to fulfill her mandate to help those in need. Recently, she helped raise money in an Iowa telethon, the proceeds of which will go to children’s charity. Meanwhile, Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell of the Philippines has been spreading awareness regarding the need to conserve our resources and natural resources. She is recently graced the Earth Hour event in her country’s premier financial district raising awareness the contribution of electricity consumption to the global warming.
Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega of Colombia is working tirelessly too to fulfill her commitment to the cause of the Miss Universe Organization. She was spotted recently helping spread awareness about HIV/AIDS where she has also successfully raised money for Aid for Aids Foundation. On the other hand, Miss International 2014 Valerie Hernandez has been working under ICA in helping the UNICEF. Valerie turned over the proceeds from Miss International auction to help UNICEF which is a UN body that promotes and protects children’s rights.
Now, isn’t it great to see these major pageants with clear and realistic causes?
