Sissie Luo was crowned the new Miss Universe Guam during the finals held August 29 at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort.
The 18-year-old from the village of Tamuning bested six other candidates for the right to represent the island territory at the 2019 Miss Universe competition. She was also awarded Best in Evening Gown, Best in Swimsuit, and Miss Photogenic
“I am so overwhelmed by the mix of emotions I’ve been feeling. I’m so humbled, grateful, and proud to represent my island. This one is for you Guam,” she posted on Instagram. Luo was born and raised in Guam, and is of Chinese descent.
Meanwhile, Franky Lynn Aguon Hill was crowned Miss International Guam 2020 and will compete at the Miss International beauty pageant in 2020.
