Millie-Mae Adams from Cardiff will represent Wales in the upcoming Miss World 2023 pageant. She hails from Cardiff and is 20 years old. She is a medical student, a Yale Young Global Scholar and a rugby player. In 2022, she was diagnosed with Alopecia Areata and has since raised funds to help the victims of this disease through her Beauty with a Purpose project.

The Miss Wales 2023 pageant was held in the city of Newport. A total of 29 Welsh beauty competed for the coveted crown. Zoe Scrimshaw was named as first runner-up while Helena Hawke took the second runner-up position.

Wales is yet to win the Miss World crown as it was only in 1999 that the country started participating as a separate entity. Previously, a Miss Wales had to compete at the Miss United Kingdom pageant. Under such arrangement two Welsh women managed to win the Miss United Kingdom title and eventually won the Miss World crown. They are Rosemarie Frankland (1961) and Helen Morgan (1974). In 2012, Sophie Moulds almost took the Miss World crown for Wales by finishing as first runner-up.
