A wide array of colors from subdued to fancy paraded onstage at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas during the Miss USA 2017 gown prelims. Fifty-one American beauties are currently vying for the Miss USA 2017 title and part of the competition is the gown prelims. This is will help determine who will make on the semifinals later on.
Sitting as one of the Miss USA 2017 gown prelims judge is Halima Aden, a 19 year old Somali-American model. She said that she is looking for someone who has a presence and who personifies the modern woman of 2017.
Another judge, Miss Universe 1997 Brook Mahealani Lee said, “I am looking for the woman that is ready to take on the rigorous duties that are required of this job. Having done it myself, I know it is more than just pictures and public appearances.”
The Miss USA contestants have been touring, filming, rehearsing and preparing to compete for the Miss USA crown in Las Vegas, Nevada.
