Ayano Yamada was crowned Miss Earth Japan 2015 during the finals held last July 11th, earning the right to represent the Land of the Rising Sun in Miss Earth 2015 pageant in Austria.
No stranger to pageants, she represented Aomori in Miss Universe Japan 2013 and placed in the Top 15.
Her elemental court included Miss Air Mai Karihura, Miss Water Akane Koga and Miss Fire Seina Soushin.
Japan has placed three times in Miss Earth semifinals and has won the Best in National Costume twice: Marina Kishira in 2010 and Tomoko Maeda in 2011.
