Christian Nunes won the title of Mister Venezuela 2017 on Saturday, June 10, during the finals held on the program “Súper Sábado Sensacional”.
“I want to thank my parents for their support,” 24-year-old Nunes said in Spanish after winning the title. He also bagged the Mejor Cuerpo (Best Body) award.
Luis Marrero and Adrian Menghini were first and second runners-up, respectively. The rest of the top 6 were Alejandro Zumbo, David Castro and Jose Rodulfo.
The special awards went to Elvis de Oliveira (Elegance), Michael Roa (Sonrisa), Jose Rodulfo (Look), Daviid Castro (Personalidad y Estilo and Actuacion), Alejandro Zumbo (Animacion) and Luis Marrero (Cantante).
Nunes was Mister Universo Venezuela 2014. He competed in Men Universe Model 2015 but was unplaced.
No international pageant for Mr Venezuela
Nunes, however, will have the same fate as last year’s winner Renato Barabino, who wasn’t able to compete in any international competition.
Osmel Sousa, president of the Miss Venezuela Organization, said prior to the finals that they explained to the contestants that they are looking for entertainers, singers and actors.
“Before [the pageant was held] to send a representative to Mister World, but it has become a very irregular contest,” said Sousa.
Barabino did not attend the finale as he was out of the country. Missosology.Org
