Cassia Sharpley, a 21 year-old emergency medical care student of Namibia University of Science and Technology, was crowned as Miss Namibia 2022 Friday night, August 12. The pageant was held at Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino and a total of 12 contestants vied for the crown. Cassia is expected to compete at Miss Universe 2022 pageant. The first runner-up is 26 year-old Swakopmund native Leoné Van Jaarsveld. She could be appointed to represent Namibia at Miss World 2023 contest. Diana Andimba, 23, is the second runner-up.

Michelle Mclean is the only Namibian woman to ever clinch the Miss Universe title. She won the crown in 1992 but a year earlier, she made her mark at Miss World by finishing as one of the Top 5. Namibia is currently ranked 79th at the Big5 Ranking.
