As correctly predicted, Pedro Gicca of Brazil was named Mister Global 2017 in glittering ceremony held May 20 at Chiangmai Hall in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The 29-year-old electrical engineer and model edged out 27 other contestants to succeed the outgoing titleholder, Tomas Martinka. Gicca is the first from the Americas to win the Mister Global title.
South Africa’s Gerrie Havenga finished first runner-up. He also bagged the Best Physique award. Second runner-up was pageant veteran Christopher Bramell of England. He also placed in the Top 5 of Mr World and Manhunt International last year.

Fabián Vera of Chile placed third runner-up, while Vietnam’s Thuan Nguyen was fourth runner-up. Nguyen also won Best in Talent.
The Top 10 finalists included the representatives of Indonesia, Puerto Rico, India, Spain and China. The rest of the Top 16 were Misters Myanmar, Panama, Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Philippines.
The winners of other special awards were: Sri Lanka (Best National Costume), Myanmar (Internet Popularity), Korea (Mister Congeniality), Spain (Best Model), China (Mister Photogenic) and Philippines (Mister Charming Smile).
