A doctor and an animal lover will be representing Malaysia in the upcoming Miss Earth pageant! Kajel Kaur who hails from the state of Ipoh won the coveted national crown in a pageant held at The Pearl Kuala Lumpur. Kajel is proud of her Punjabi Sikh roots. She is 26 years of age and has completed the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Quest International University.
Kajel is a passionate advocate of animal rights. “Dogs and cats have taught me love and kindness,” she said. She vowed to spearhead several initiatives that will create more rescue centers for animals.
It is yet to be confirmed if Miss Earth 2022 will again be held virtually. However, with the Philippines opening up and restrictions are slowly removed, it may be possible that the pageant will be held once again in Manila later this year.
Malaysia is yet to win the Miss Earth crown but last year, Nisha Thayananthan became the first Malaysian to land in the semifinals.
