Miss Russia 2019 Alina Sanko has been designeted to represent Russia at the 69th Miss Universe competition to be held in May in the USA.
The 22-year-old artist and designer from Azov, Rostov Oblast previously represented Russia in Miss World 2019 and placed in the Top 12.
“I dreamed of getting to this competition and I am very grateful for this opportunity,” Sanko posted on Instagram shortly after the Miss Russia organization made the announcement.
“In the next two months, I will actively prepare for the Miss Universe finals! There is a lot to do. I really love this exciting period before international competitions, which, I hope, this time will also be crowned with a worthy result. For my part, I will do my best to represent Russia at a high level!”
Russia won the Miss Universe crown in 2002 with Oxana Fedorova, but she was dethroned. The country ranks 35th in Missosology Big 5 Ranking. Missosology.Org
