At last, the long wait is over

No one can argue that the 63rd Miss Universe competition ended with a deserving win for Colombia. Most of the major pageant-related websites including Missosology has predicted her win. Paulina Vega came into the competition as a strong favorite and she proved her detractors wrong.

At last, the long Colombian wait is over. The series of heartbreaks in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 2008 has finally bore fruit to the second Miss Universe crown. It was not easy for Colombia to win way way back in 1958 when it first competed at the pageant and then saw a series of near misses.

With the victory of Paulina, Colombia has finally asserted itself as a beauty superpower and will further entrenched itself in the Top 5 of the Big4 Ranking. Long considered as the poor sister of the neighboring Venezuela, the country has now achieved its long sought victory.

Viva Colombia! And congratulations!
