The 23 year old psychology student will try her luck once again by competing in another major international beauty pageant. She was Miss Mundo Panama 2018 and went on to compete at Miss World 2018 pageant in Sanya, China. She made history by placing as one of the Top 12 and was eventually bestowed with Miss World Americas title. It is the highest placement of Panama ever at Miss World.

Solaris Barba was one of the 10 aspirants presented by Miss Universe Panama organization last May 20. After a series of evaluations and closed door castings, Solaris was picked by the organization’s panel of judges as the overall winner. Alina Reyna, 25, was the first runner-up while Adaluz Perea, 27, is the second runner-up.

Panama boasts one Miss Universe titleholder – Justine Pasek. She took over when the original Miss Universe 2002 Oxana Federova of Russia was dethroned. Given the experience of Solaris Barba and her high placement at Miss World, Panama has a strong chance to win the crown at this year’s Miss Universe.
