Manila’s main avenue is closed today for the grand parade in honor of the Philippines’ first ever Miss World winner. Megan Young, is being feted today riding in a giant float as she waves to her the ecstatic onlookers. There is a storm that is about to landfall in the main island of the archipelago and Manila is experiencing a rainy day. This however did not deter the thousands of Filipinos. Armed with umbrellas they flocked along the streetsides to catch a glimpse of Megan. Megan is accompanied by Cory Quirino and Julia Morley including a half a dozen female bodyguards. The parade terminated at one of the top 10 largest shopping mall in the world – the Mall of Asia.
