Narintorn “Grace” Chadapattarawalrachoat was crowned Miss Thailand World 2019 during the finals held August 3 at Berkeley Hotel Pratunam.

The 21-year-old fine arts student has earned the right to represent the Land of Smiles at the 2019 Miss World contest to be held in London in December.

“When I started competing, some people said I was too chubby. But everyone saw how I’ve tried to improve myself, as well as my efforts to work on my campaign to help people with depression,” Chadapattarawalrachoat was quoted by Khaosod English.

Chadapattarawalrachoat is planning to put up a volunteer program called “Let Me Hear You” that focuses on psychological counseling.

Pamolchanok Dilkrutsakul and Dusita Tipkomut were first and second runners-up, respectively.

Thailand came so close to winning its first Miss World crown last year when Nicolene Pichapa Limsnukan placed as runner-up to eventual winner Vanessa Ponce de Leon. Missosology.Org; Photos from Khaosod English
