On-anong Homsombath, who was first runner-up in Miss Universe Laos 2017, has been appointed Miss Universe Laos 2018. The annoucement was made on the pageant’s official Facebook page on Monday, July 23.
The 23-year-old international relations graduate from the University of Kaposvár in Hungary will now compete in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition.
Homsombath has worked for the Mekong River Commission, and has participated in various education exchange programs in Southeast Asia, Japan and the USA.
“She has an unique and outstanding beauty, language competency, elegant courtesy and Lao culture to deserve presenting Lao women in Miss Universe 2018,” the Miss Universe Laos Organization said in a statement.
