A 21-year-old law student from Naples was crowned the new Miss Mondo Italia on June 10 at the Teatro Italia Gallipoli.
Nunzia Amato edged out 49 other candidates for the crown and the chance to represent her country at the 2018 Miss World finals to be held in China in December. She receieved the crown from last year’s winner Conny Notarstefano.
“I still can not believe what I’m experiencing,” Amato was quoted by La Stampa. “Honestly I did not expect to reach this goal.”
Veronica Avanzolini placed first runner-up while Aylin Nica finished second runner-up. Erika de Matteis and Wei Wei Lin were third and fourth runners-up, respectively. Missosology.Org
