Anastasia Iacub, 19 years of age from Băcioi, won the Miss Moldova title in a pageant held on May 27. A student of the Academy of Economic Studies, Anastasia prevailed in the field of 21 contestants and was crowned in a televised event. She will compete at the Miss World 2015 world finals scheduled to be held in Sanya in December. Moldova, a nation that straddles between Romania and Ukraine, started participating at Miss World in 2000. No Moldovan beauty has ever made it to the semis of Miss World.
