For the first time since 1996, there will be no swimsuit presentation at the final gala of Miss International. This was revealed by Miss International spokesperson, Stephen Diaz, who now supervises the operations of the international pageant as the newly appointed chief-of-staff of the International Cultural Association.

“There will be no swimsuit presentation at the final gala, but a strict swimsuit evaluation will be held days before the actual pageant night, which will be attended by experts in the beauty and wellness industry,” reveals Diaz in an online correspondence with Missosology.

Diaz also added that unlike in the previous editions, this year’s semifinalists will be determined before the curtain opens. Traditionally, the Top 15 semifinalists of Miss International were to be chosen via voting by the board of judges, after seeing them in national costume, swimsuit and evening gown. This year, however, the judges will be given the chance to meet all the delegates before the show starts. According to Diaz, the individual evaluations of the delegates’ swimsuit scores, their behavior during the pageant period as well as communication skills, intelligence and “Beauties for SDGs” initiative will be handed over to the judges before they meet on October 26th.

The finals of Miss International 2023 will be held at the National Yoyogi Gymnasium 2 in Tokyo’s Shibuya ward. Jasmin Selberg of Germany will be crowning her successor just barely 10 months after winning the crown last year in the twice postponed 60th Miss International.
