The Miss Universe Indonesia recently conducted its inaugural pageant at the Beach City International Stadium, Ancol in North Jakarta with the reigning Miss Universe R’booney Gabriel as a special guest. Emerging victorious from a field of 30 stunning women from all over Indonesia is Fabiënne Nicole Groeneveld. Born in the Netherlands, Fabiënne is 23 years old and has studied at Universitas Pelita Harapan and University of New South Wales, Australia.

Finishing as first runner-up is Vina Anggi Sitorus while the second runner-up is Muthia Fatika Rachman. Angela Yovita Lillo and Baby Kristami completed the Top 5. The Miss Universe Indonesia pageant was formed by prominent singer and businesswoman Poppy Capella after Puteri Indonesia pageant did not renew their Miss Universe license.

Fabiënne Nicole Groeneveld is a strong advocate of animal welfare and is a member of the Surabaya Animal Care Community. She admitted that she didn’t expect to win the title but she has vast experience in national and international pageantry. In 2018, she represented Indonesia at the Miss Global pageant wherein she was one of the semifinalists. Fabiënne will now compete for the Miss Universe crown in El Salvador this November.
