The 2019 Big5 season officially began on October 1 as more than 80 delegates of Miss Earth 2019 met the members of the press during a presentation at the Diamond Hotel in Manila, Philippines.

Unlike in previous years, the delegates introduced themselves in cocktail dresses and talked about their respective countries’ national flower and personal advocacies. They still went out in swimwear by the hotel’s poolside for a quick photo opportunity, holding placards with environmental messages.

One of these ladies will succeed the reigning Miss Earth Phuong Khánh Nguyen of Vietnam.

In the next days, the delegates will go around the country for their eco tours and charity visits. They will also be facing the three prejudging rounds that will determine their fate in this year’s competition: figure and form, face and poise, and intelligence and advocacy.

Finals is set for October 26 in a yet-to-be-announced venue, with a live telecast on Fox Life and live stream on the Miss Earth Facebook page. Missosology.Org
