Miss Costa Rica 2015 is Brenda Castro
Costa Rica, the darling among the Latin American countries, has a new beauty queen. Her name is Brenda Castro and she’s 23 years old and has been modeling since the age of 15. Brenda will have the opportunity to represent a nation that is a top tourist destination and is considered as the safest and most stable among its peers in the Central American region.
While Costa Rica boasts good statistics from economics to human development, it has a lot to catch up in the world of pageantry. It is currently ranked as 45th in the Big4 Ranking. At Miss Universe, where Brenda is supposedly to compete, Costa Rica managed only four times at the semis. Unfortunately, Costa Rica will be boycotting Miss Universe this year in light of the racist comments of Donald Trump.
Nevertheless, Brenda will count on to the support of her family which she mentioned as the main reason why she won the Miss Costa Rica 2015 contest. Brenda is also not a newbie at the world of pageantry. She has already the following titles in the kitty: Señorita Verano Costa Rica 2015, Miss Latinoamérica Costa Rica 2014, 3rd runner-up at Miss Latinoamérica Internacional 2014, Miss Teenager Costa Rica 2011, 3rd runner-up at Miss Teenager Internacional 2011 and Señorita Expo-Pococí 2008.
With good showings in 2011 and in 2013, there are lots of signs that says Costa Rica will eventually catch up. Will Brenda usher Costa Rica into its golden years?
