With the resignation of Sofie Nielsen, citing conflict schedule as Miss Denmark Supranational 2016, Malene Sørensen, in her capacity as first runner-up took over the title. Malene will compete in Poland later this year. In her Facebook post, Malene vowed to make Denmark proud and thank her supporters for helping her.
The Face of Denmark organization may have been sad seeing Sofie resigning but they are confident that Malene will do an excellent job as Miss Denmark Supranational 2016.
“We love Sofie Nielsen, and Malene Sørensen,” said John Hamilton de Voss, the organizer of Face of Denmark in an exclusive statement sent to Missosology. “With 15 exquisite girls, any of them are more than able to represent Denmark abroad and we are happy that Sofie was able to quickly tell us that due to her education she would not be able to attend Miss Supranational, and naturally felt that Malene would be a better fit.”
