Lorena Santen will be the Swiss flag bearer during the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador. The 26-year-old beauty from Aargau has a degree in economics and currently works for UBS in Zurich. Lorena Santen emerged victorious in a field of 15 candidates and she hopes to become the first ever Swiss woman to win the Miss Universe crown.
The Miss Universe Switzerland 2023 contest was held in Hilton Geneva. Marisa Varunee Kappenthuler was hailed as the first runner-up while Emilie Bovier was the second runner-up.
The last time Switzerland made it to the semis of Miss Universe was in 2013 when Dominique Rinderknecht made it to the Top 16. Meanwhile, the country’s highest ranking is the 2nd runner-up finish of Lauriane Gillieron back in 2006.
