Lesego Chombo, 22, was crowned as Miss Botswana 2022 during a pageant packed with glamor and excitement held in the capital city of Gaborone and attended by the reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska of Poland. Named as first runner-up is Tshepo Nthaga while Sebaga Manyapetsa is the second runner-up. Lesego who is an aspiring lawyer will represent Botswana at the 71st Miss World pageant. She succeeded Palesa Mofele who was one of the Top 40 at the Miss World 2022 pageant held in Puerto Rico earlier this year.

Ranked 102nd at the Big5 Ranking, Botswana is yet to win the Miss World crown. The highest placement of the country was back in 2010 when Emma Wareus finished as first runner-up to USA’s Alexandria Mills.
