Keryn Matthew from Edinburgh was named Miss Scotland 2019 at a flashy event in Glasgow’s Grand Central Station Hotel on June 8.

The 24-year-old former Edinburgh University student bested 17 other candidates for the right to represent the country at the 2019 Miss World contest in December in Thailand.

Matthew is no stranger to pageants as she was second runner-up in Miss Scotland 2016. She has been raising funds for the Alzheimer Scotland charity after her grandfather had suffered from the condition.

Celine Robertson and Jodie Weir placed first and second runners-up, respectively.
