Katharine Walker was crowned as Miss Northern Ireland in a pageant held in Europa Hotel in the capital city of Belfast. The stunning blonde beauty will represent Northern Ireland at Miss World 2018 in China with the finale slated on December 8.
Katharine Walker is a nurse from Hillsborough and is 23 years of age. She admits that she was a follower of Miss Northern Ireland contest and now that the crown is hers, she’ll be juggling her time between her job and her title. However, as someone who works in a children’s hospital Katharine will probably feel at home at Miss World as the pageant is now more focused on charity projects.
Northern Ireland has been competing at Miss World as a separate entity since 2000. So far, at least 5 Northern Irish beauty queens were able to make it to the first cut but the crown is yet to be won. Katharine Walker hopes that she could be the first to bring home the elusive title.
