After successfully mounting its 20th edition virtually last year, the Miss Earth pageant decided to go with another virtual format for 2021, with the grand coronation set for November.
“With the continuous rise of Covid-19 new virant cases worldwide, Carousel thought it best to forego the live staging of the pageant for the second time,” the organization said in a statement. “The safety of the delegates, the production staff, and the public is still paramount for the organization, and will not, in any way, put anyone involved with the event at risk.”
This year, Miss Earth takes on the theme “Colors of the Earth” to reflect the vast and unique biodiversity of the world. It also alludes to the brighter outlook on 2021 coming from a rather bleak 2020 due to the pandemic.
“But even without the live coronation event, Miss Earth followers can still look forward to an exciting virtual production showcasing the country’s breathtaking tourism destinations and, of course, the beauty of an Earth Ambassador.” Missosology.Org
