It’s St. Patrick’s Day and let’s take a look at Ireland’s best moment at Big4 pageants.
Alesha Gallen is the highest ranking Irish beauty at Miss Earth (seen here dancing Irish jig) after landing at Top 18. She is a symbol of Irish comeback at the pageant. Nevertheless Ireland is not really warming up to the pageant with participation that is spotty at best.
Michelle Mary Teresa Rocca is 2nd runner-up at Miss International 1981. Ireland withdrew from the pageant after 1994.
Miss Universe is yet to crown an Irish beauty. In 1963 Marlene Margaret McKeown became 2nd runner-up. Roberta Brown matched her performance decades later but Marlene was Miss Photogenic.
Ireland’s sole Big4 crown was won by Rosanna Davison. She was a Miss World 10 year’s ago, now she’s a playboy poster girl. Miss World taking off her clothes for everyone is see is perhaps something of a novelty.
