Inés López was crowned the new Miss Nicaragua during the finals held August 17 at the Holiday Inn & Convention Center in Managua.
The 18-year-old international law student from Managua has earned the right to represent the central American nation at the 2019 Miss Universe competition.
“I feel super happy and satisfied because I see that all the effort and performance that I put in (the contest) have been worth it,” she said in Spanish.
Sugey Ruiz placed first runner-up, while Emily Morán finished second runner-up. Jocelyn Berríos and Ingrid Perez were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Former Miss Nicaragua winners Farah Eslaquit (2012) and Berenice Quezada (2017) were among the judges.
