Vowing to make her country proud, an emotional Tracy Maureen Perez was showered with best wishes by the Miss World Philippines organization during the send-off ceremony held in Kingsford Hotel. The 5’5″ tall beauty who hails from Cebu will compete for the Miss World 2021 title.

This year’s host city is San Juan, Puerto Rico with the finals night slated on December 16th. The pageant was postponed last year due to the pandemic. The Philippines has only one Miss World crown won by Megan Young in 2013. The country enjoyed good showing at the pageant since 2011 but its streak at the semis was broken in 2018.

Tracy Maureen hopes that her country’s momentum in the pageantry world will help propel her Miss World campaign. In the 10th edition of Big5 Ranking, the Philippines climbed to the third place cementing its status as a pageant superpower [READ http://missosology.org/big5/ranking/67453-big-5-ranking-enters-its-10th-year/]. Miss World however is a tough nut to crack for the Philippines. If countries are ranked by pageant, the Philippines is always on the top 10 except at Miss World where it is on the 13th spot.
