Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray was warmly welcomed by jubilant Filipinos today, February 21, during a homecoming parade held at the major thoroughfares of Metro Manila. Wearing a Mak Tumang (the same designer who created Catriona’s red gown) terno-inspired jumpsuit, Catriona was greeted with flag-waving and confetti-throwing fans as she glided along the Philippine’s financial district of Makati. Her shades of green dress is awash with symbolism with not-so-subtle references to her country’s national flower and national leaf.
Catriona briefly came home to the Philippines after she was crowned as Miss Universe but it was a rather muted affair. She then spent weeks in the United States where she did a whirlwind media tour as well as attending the Superbowl LIII in Atlanta. She later made an appearance at the New York Fashion Week. Catriona also flew to Indonesia to do a commercial for a health drink.
Today’s celebration is a one of the two that was planned by the Bb. Pilipinas organization in honor of Catriona’s victory. On Saturday, February 23, another parade will be held near the Araneta Coliseum, home of the Bb. Pilipinas pageant. Click on the thumbnails below to check out the photos of the homecoming parade.
