New York, May 12, 2014—With its eyes firmly set on the promotion of Filipino-American (Fil-Am) talents in the East Coast, newly established Synergy Production & Marketing Inc., spearheaded by husband and wife team of Ronald and Grace Labaguis, is bent on launching the first-ever MISS WORLD PHILIPPINES’ franchise in the East Coast by way of the 2014 MISS PHILIPPINES QUEST USA pageant set Saturday, July 12, at Symphony Space, where the company also held its recently concluded concert production of “An Evening of Original Philippine Music with Cecile Azarcon, Lorrie Ilustre, and Fil-Am Artists in New York and New Jersey.”

“We’re truly grateful to Fil-Am organizations, colleagues, friends, and family members who came out to support Synergy Production’s tribute concert to Original Philippine Music (OPM) and legendary Filipino songwriter Cecile Azarcon held last month,” says Ms. Labaguis, who also serves as marketing consultant for GMA Pinoy TV and GMA Life TV, international channels of GMA Network Inc. based in the Philippines.

“With the outpouring love and support that we got, we now feel more inspired to do our best at promoting deserving Fil-Am talents,” she adds, “Without missing a beat, and with the blessing of Ms. Cory Quirino, the franchise owner of MISS WORLD PHILIPPINES, our search for the East Coast’s official representative to the prestigious MISS WORLD pageant—through our very own MISS PHILIPPINES QUEST USA—is our next platform,” she adds.

In a statement, Ms. Quirino shares her enthusiasm for collaborating with Synergy Production: “Because of the success of Megan Young, Miss World 2013, we are encouraged to widen our search in order to give every eligible Filipina a chance to make her Beauty Queen dreams come true. We are confident that our partnership with Synergy Production will lead to a deserving winner who will ably represent the Filipino community in the U.S.”

MISS WORLD is a highly reputable international beauty pageant, which originated in the United Kingdom in 1951. Its “Beauty with a Purpose” campaign, in particular, has raised hundreds of millions of pounds, which have been donated to various organizations in aid of disadvantaged children across the globe.

Apparently, Fil-Ams in the New York Tri-State area have recently been reacquainted with MISS WORLD’s charity projects through the shining example set by its reigning Filipina Miss World Megan Young, who globetrotted London, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and Jakarta in less than two weeks to raise funds for the victims of super typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) in central Philippines, whom she personally visited in November 2013.

Rey Yumang, a beauty pageant connoisseur, says, “Single Filipinas in the East Coast should join MISS PHILIPPINES QUEST USA to chase their dreams and make a difference in the lives of many.  This first-ever franchise of MISS WORLD PHILIPPINES pageant will definitely be a springboard for many modern-day Filipina beauty queens to promote and support worthy causes and advocacies.”

“Be a part of the MISS WORLD PHILIPPINES’ family and know what the true purpose and role of a Beauty Queen is: one who truly uses her beauty and intelligence to raise the Filipino flag proudly before all the world to see,” says Ms. Quirino.

Synergy Production, together with Izzajaye Dungca of One10 Collection and Mabel Sigmon of MS Event Solutions, will conduct screenings of prospective MISS PHILIPPINES QUEST USA pageant contestants on May 17 and 24, 1 to 6 p.m., at 71 West 23rd St., Suite 1628, New York, NY.  17-24 year-old single Filipinas, 5’6” or taller, may apply.
