The 22 year-old nursing student from Ballymena is expected to compete at Miss World 2023. The 1st runner up Poppy Smith while the 2nd Runner up Lucy Johnston. Insiders informed Missosology that the pageant held in March after it was cancelled last year will be considered as Miss World 2022 competition. A total of 23 contestants vied for the title. The pageant was held Monday night, May 23 at Europa Hotel in Belfast. The reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska of Poland attended the pageant as a special guest.
Daria Gapska also works as a part time model. In her instagram post, she expressed gratitude to those who helped her achieve the crown. “Feeling blessed to have woken up this morning as Miss World Northern Ireland 2022 👑”, she posted. “This is not my usual Monday night.. thank you to @victoriawithers13 and all at @acamodels@missworldnorthernireland for everything these past few months, and of course all the fabulous sponsors who made this all possible and provided all of us contestants with such an unforgettable experience ! Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom and since 1980, Miss Northern Ireland would still have to compete at Miss United Kingdom pageant. In 2000, after the political devolution in United Kingdom, the Miss Northern Ireland winner began competing directly at Miss World. The country and/or province is yet to win the crown but this year, Anna Leitch was able to place at Top 6 which is the highest recorded placement of a Northern Irishwoman at Miss World.
