Amid the boos and several errors during the finals night, the current Miss Universe Puerto Rico Gabriela Berrios bestowed the coveted crown to Catalina Morales. Catalina, who represented Guaynabo, will compete at the 2015 edition of Miss Universe [not to be confused to the Miss Universe 2014 which is to be held in Doral on January 25, 2015]. Miss Aguas Buenas Nivializ Pérez is the first runner-up while Nicole Colón of Cayey is the second runner-up.
The event was held in Puerto Rico Fair Complex, Ponce. The 23 year old winner is a law student at the University of Puerto Rico. Despite the booing incident which was triggered by the low placement of Miss Cayey Nicole Colón, the newly crowed queen is ecstatic expressing her disbelief after the coronation. The new Miss Universe Puerto Rico apparently got a nod from the judges after giving a neutral answer over the final question on who she would choose as the winner if she is one of the judges of the current competition.
