Catalina Huenulao is the new Miss Chile International after winning the national title while representing the city of Temuco which is located in central Chile, south of Santiago. She is expected to compete at Miss International 2021 which is to be held later this year in Japan.
Chile is yet to win the Miss International crown. Its highest placement at the pageant was in 1980 when Mónica Salinas Ruiz was named as 4th runner-up to Lorna Chavez of Costa Rica. At Big 5 Ranking, Chile’s performance has plateaued for several years holding on the 42nd place since 2017.
