Sometimes, winning is just a matter luck! Ask, Carolina Rodriguez who was crowned as Miss Costa Rica 2016 hours ago. During the final round of the Miss Costa Rica contest held Friday night, August 19, Carolina Rodriguez was tied with two other candidates. The judges and organizers were tasked to break the three-way tie and Carolina is lucky woman to get the nod.
This isn’t the first time that Carolina tried to win the coveted title. In 2014, Carolina Rodriguez was the first runner-up to Karina Santos. This year, the stars simply aligned for her and she will now compete at the Miss Universe 2016 contest. The international event will be held on January 2017 in the Philippines according to the Filipino tourism secretary although no official announcement was made by the Miss Universe Organization.
Carolina Rodriguez is 27 years of age and she was crowned by her predecessor Brenda Castro. The crown is made of silver studded with Swarovski crystals designed by the Costa Rican jeweller Karad. The finals night was held at Auditorio Nacional del Centro Costarricense de la Ciencia y la Cultura. It is the same venue where the 2011 edition of Miss Costa Rica was held.
