As predicted by Missosology, Ashley Ann Cariño Barreto representing the municipality of Fajardo was crowned as Miss Universe Puerto Rico in a pageant held on August 11 at Luis Frerré Performing Arts Center in San Juan. The pageant was beamed live via WAPA-TV. Ashley Ann is a 27 year-old graduate of Space Engineering at the Florida Central University. She represented Florida at the Miss USA 2021 pageant where she finished as 2nd runner-up.

Finishing as first runner-up is Leonela Gonzalez De Jesus while Camille Fabery Diana is the second runner-up. Making it to the Top 5 are Graciela Berrios and Valeria Pagán Masini.
Puerto Rico boasts 5 Miss Universe titleholders making it as one of the strongest countries in the pageant. However, the county’s last victory was back in 2006. It is currently ranked 14th at the Big5 Ranking.
