Ana Marcelo from Esteli was crowned Miss Nicaragua 2020 during the finals held August 8 in Managua.
The 23-year-old agro-iundustrial engineer bested seven other candidates for the title and the right to compete in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition. She also bagged the lion’s share of special awards, including Mejor Imagen y Estilo (Best Image and Style), Mejor Piel Solenti (Best Skin), Miss Pantene and Mejor Rostro (Best Face) award.
Geyssel García placed first runner-up, while Cindy Bustamante and Magdalena Jarquín were third and fourth runners-up, respectively.
Marcelo won Miss Teen Nicaragua in 2015 and represented the country in Miss Teen Americas.
