Concurso Nacional de Belleza Ecuador, which holds the rights to send the country’s representatives to Miss World and Miss Supranational, was forced to cancel the finals set for May 23 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and went ahead with an online selection instead.
Amar Pacheco Ibarra, representing Guayquil, was chosen as Miss World Ecuador 2020. The 23-year-old music student will represent the country in the next edition of the Miss World pageant.
She is the daughter of singer, actress and politician Silvana Ibarra and musician Gustavo Pacheco.
Last month, the organization named through an online selection its representative to Miss Supranational 2020, Justeen Cruz.
