Aldy Bernard, representing Laguna Salada, was crowned Miss República Dominicana Universo 2018 in gittering ceremony held at the Gran Arena del Cibao in Santiago de los Caballeros.
The 22-year-old social communication graduate will now represent the country in Bangkok, Thailand for the 2018 Miss Universe competition in December. She also won the Mejor Traje TIpico award.
Tania Martinez (Montecristi) placed first runner-up and will compete at 2018 Miss United Continents pageant. Roxanie Rodriguez (Peravia) finished second runner-up and will represent the country in Reina Hispanoamerica 2018.
