The inherent difficulty in gauging the trends at Miss World lies squarely on the fact that the pageant is looking for a well-rounded beauty queen. This a challenge that beauty analysts and missosologists must face. Looks can be gauged remotely. Character on the other hand is tougher to assess even when meeting someone in person.
There are wide array of challenges that tests the intelligence, compassion, physical strength and beauty of each contestants. Indeed, the finals night that we will witness next month will not determine the winner. The winner is already known way ahead of time and what is interesting is that sometimes the pre-finals challenges offer clues (winners of Top Model challenge has a higher chance of winning the crown) but in many cases they don’t.
Sash weight plays minimal role at Miss World. Gibraltar for example won in 2009 and Côte d’Ivoire placed 2nd runner-up in 2021 despite their very low placements at Big5 Ranking. This is another aspect that makes Miss World a difficult pageant to predict.
Despite of these challenges, beauty analysts and missosologists peered into their crystal ball. Relying on their years of experience, they came up with this First Hot Picks for the 71st Miss World pageant.
