Months after the Miss Universe 2022 pageant concluded, the Best in National Costume award was finally announced and it went to Miss Ukraine Viktoriia Apanasenko. Her national costume is called “Angel of Light” and it represents the Archangel Michael who is considered as the protector of Ukraine’s capital city of Kiev. The same costume was chosen by Missosology’s panel of beauty experts as the best costume in the pageant. It was described by beauty experts as not only timely but also an apt representation of her nation and its people since Ukraine is currently fighting against Russian aggression. This is the first time that Ukraine won the Best in National Costume award at Miss Universe.
