R’Bonney Gabriel, 28, made history after being crowned as the first Filipino-American Miss USA. Born to a Filipino father and a Texan mother, R’Bonney is also the first Filipino-American Miss Texas USA and currently the 10th beauty queen from her state to win the national title. A Houston native, she was an early favorite bagging the Best State Costume award a few days ago. She is 5’7″ tall and she is a fashion designer and a model.
This year’s Miss USA was held at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and a total of 50 states plus the District of Columbia vied for the prestigious title and the right to represent USA at the 71st Miss Universe pageant. Morgan Romano of North Carolina is the first runner-up, Natalie Pieper is the second runner-up while Sir’Quora Carroll of Ohio and Angel Reyes are the third and fourth runners-up respectively.
