Former Miss Earth Thailand Paweensuda Drouin was crowned the new Miss Universe Thailand in glittering finale held June 29 at the Thunder Dome Muang Thong Thani.

25-year-old Thai-Canadian model and DJ bested more than 50 candidates for the right to represent the “Land of Smiles” in the next edition of the Miss Universe competition. She was crowned by reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray, who sat as one of the judges.

Miriam Sornprommas and Thanatchaphon Boonsang placed first and second runners-up, respectively. Kim Docekalova and Miss Intercontinental 2014 winner Patraporn Wang completed the Top 5.

Missosology correctly predicted Drouin’s placement, as well as the Top 5.

Prior to joining Miss Universe Thailand 2019, Drouin was 1st runner-up in Miss Thailand 2013 and second riunner-up in Miss Universe Thailand 2017. She was appointed Miss Earth Thailand 2017. She was a heavy favorite back then, and went on to place in the Top 8 of the Miss Earth 2017 competition in the Philippines. She was also named Missosology’s Choice for Miss Earth 2017.

Drouin has a degree in kinesiology from the University of Calgary in Canada.
