A high school track star was crowned Miss Earth Guam 2017 during the finals held Wednesday, June 21.
Emma Sheedy bested 16 other candidates for the right to represent the US island territory at the 2017 Miss Earth finals to be held in the Philippines. She also bagged Best in Evening Gown and Miss Photogenic awards.
Sheedy is a reporter for Guam Sports Network and is a member of Guam’s national track and field team.
Her elemental court included Miss Air Jestyne Sablan, Miss Water Jenna Deena Panuelo and Miss Fire Julia Naputi Rivera.
The rest of the Top 10 were Cirgida Reyes, Darlene Mae Gatchalian, Champain Aguon, Jaime Soriano, Tasi Marie Peredo and Tyler Torres.
Other special awards went top Sablan (Best in Native wear), Peredo (Best in Swimsuit), Aguon (Miss Friendship) and Julia RIvera (Miss Environmental Warriors).
Guam has been joining Miss Earth since 2008 and made their first appearance in the Top 16 last 2015 with Skye Celine Baker. Missosology.Org
