The representative of Paraná was crowned Miss Brasil 2016 on Saturday at the Citibank Hall.

Raissa Santana, a 21-year-old student, will represent Brazil in Miss Universe 2016 to be held in the Philippines in January.

Danielle Marion of Rio Grande do Norte and Deise D’anne of Maranhão finished first and second-runners-up, respectively.

Santana is the second black woman to with the contest. The first was Deise Nunes in 1986. Missosology.Org
