Miss Grand Thailand, an annual spectacle choosing several Thai beauties to compete in international pageants, was held last June 26th in a star-studded pageant night.
Miss Ratchaburi Chatchadaporn “Aoii” Kimakorn, 25, was chosen as the new Miss Supranational Thailand, which many interpret as the 1st runner-up to the Miss Grand Thailand titleholder. She will compete in Miss Supranational 2016 to be held in Poland in December.
The ultimate crown, however, went to Miss Songkhla Supaporn “Fai” Malisorn, 22, who will represent the kingdom in the 2016 Miss Grand International, to be held in Las Vegas this October.
Other winners were: Miss Singburi Atitaya Khunnalapat (Miss Intercontinental Thailand), Miss Chonburi June Pinicha (Miss Tourism Thailand) and Miss Petchburi Anna Anchana (Miss Top Model Thailand).
The pageant was marred by controversy after gowns of several contestants which are said to be poor imitations of several gowns already seen in pageants worldwide became viral on social media.
The Best in Evening Gown award went to Miss Phatthalung, wore an evening gown very similar to Jessica Duarte’s gown during Miss Venezuela 2015.
